The South Wolverhamtpon & Bilston Academy

On Friday 20 April the Philosophy and Ethics GCSE classes visited the Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha Gurdwara in Birmingham.
During the day we were able to ask questions about how Sikh’s lived and worshiped as well as looked at the areas of worship around the Gurdwara.

As part of the visit we were given the opportunity to look at a special prayer hall on the roof of the Gurdwara where the interior of the dome had been tiled with mirrored tiles.
To finish the visit we were invited to join the Langar for a light meal. Overall the students benefited from this trip as it deepened their understanding of one of the religions we are studying at GCSE.
